8th Annual OC Brew Ha Ha Recap

This past Saturday, September 23rd, one of my most favorite beer festivals of the year took place, the Brew Ha Ha.  This year was the eighth year the Brew Ha Ha has taken place, which is quite the feat!  Brew Ha Ha once again this year took place in the beautiful Oak Canyon Park.  This is one of my most favorite venues for a beer festival, because it seems as if you are far outside of a major metropolitan area, when you are actually near major freeways.

This year, unlike in years past, the Brew Ha Ha was held on a day when the weather was amazingly gorgeous.  It was a beautiful day, and it wasn't too hot, which is not usually the case.  This helped to make the Brew Ha Ha even more awesome than usual!

Cheers to awesome beers and weather!
Some of my favorite beers of the day were from both well established as well as newer breweries.  Among my favorite beers of the day were Brewery Rex's Stay Wit, Ritual Brewing Company's Funner IPA, and Tustin Brewing Company's Kentucky Hug.

New for this year's Brew Ha Ha was a Rare Beer Section.  This area had exclusive beers available throughout the event for festival attendees who had selected the Rare Beer option for admission.  Some of the beers in the Rare Beer Section, such as Tustin Brewing Company's Kentucky Hug, were also available to all attendees in the General Admission area of the event, but, it was only available for a select time, whereas in the Rare Beer Section it was available throughout the event with no line.

Rare Beer Section, where everyone was smiling at drinking rare beers!

As usual, there was a wide variety of food options available at Brew Ha Ha provided by local food truck and restaurant booths.  There were also games available throughout Oak Canyon Park for festival attendees to partake in as well as live music.  Having food, games, and music helps to make sure that attendees are able to take breaks from trying all of the tasty beers throughout the event.

This year's live music entertainment was provided by The Spazmatics, which were awesome!  I had never heard them perform before, and was so excited to hear them play covers of some of my favorite 80s songs.

As usual, the organizers of Brew Ha Ha provided a fun filled afternoon.  I always look forward to attending events put on by Brew Ha Ha Productions.  I can't wait until their next event!

Cheers to another amazing Brew Ha Ha!

4th Annual Brew Hee Haw Craft Beer Roundup Recap

A visit to the fair is an essential part of my summer.  I always look forward to all of the sights, sounds, and unique food items that are offered every year. This year, I was able to attend the 4th Annual Brew Hee Haw Craft Beer Roundup.  This was my first time attending the Brew Hee Haw, which is an event that is produced by Brew Ha Ha Productions.  I always have a fun time at Brew Ha Ha events, spending time with friends, while enjoying a wide variety of delicious beers.

The Brew Hee Haw is unique because it is set inside of another annual event, the OC Fair. The OC Fair and Brew Hee Haw go together perfectly.  Brew Hee Haw attendees are able to attend the event, and enjoy the fair afterwards.  The area where the Brew Hee Haw is held is underneath a large tent, which makes it easy to enjoy a beautiful Southern California summer day.  The event had a great mix of people, and never felt that it was too crowded.

Attendees were able to easily go from booth to booth and sample beers.  The dj that was at the opposite end of the entrance played a wide variety of music, which helped to add to everyone's enjoyment throughout the afternoon.  The relaxed environment and manageable crowds made it easy for attendees to enjoy themselves throughout the four hour event.
I had a fantastic time at the Brew Hee Haw and look forward to attending next year!

7th Annual Brew Ha Ha Recap

This past Saturday, September 24th, one of my most favorite events of the year took place, the Brew Ha Ha.  This year marked the seventh year the Brew Ha Ha has taken place, which is quite the accomplishment!  The Brew Ha Ha took place once again in the picturesque Oak Canyon Park.  I really love this venue, it feels as if you are far outside of the metropolitan area of Orange County, when in fact you aren't very far from major freeways.

Waiting to enter Brew Ha Ha
As in past years, the Brew Ha Ha was held on a warmer than normal day, even though it is officially fall, the weather doesn't seem to realize this.  Thankfully, there are lots of shady spots throughout the event grounds as well as misting stations which make it easy to cool off in between sipping on delicious beers.

This year, as in year's past, there was a collaboration beer made exclusively for the Brew Ha Ha.  This year a local brewery, Bottle Logic Brewing and a San Diego brewery, AleSmith Brewing Company worked together to create Stable Orbit.  The collaboration beer will be available in Southern California in both bottles and on draft.  This limited edition beer has an 8.5% BV and features several South African hops: African Queen, Southern Passion, Southern Star, and XJA2.  Stable Orbit was definitely a stand out beer of the day.

Stable Orbit, worth the wait!
Other stand outs of the day were Founders Brewing Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale and Mike Hess Brewing 8 West.  There were a wide variety of beers, which, as always, made it easy for everyone to find something to enjoy throughout the event.

Besides beer, the Brew Ha Ha, as usual had a great assortment of food options available throughout the event.  From food trucks to restaurants booths, there were many different types of food available.

Sweet Temptations treats made with beer are always a great idea!

Throughout the venue, there were games for attendees to play as well as live music.  This helps to break up the event and also ensure that people are taking breaks in between enjoying the ample selection of beers.

Once again, the organizers of Brew Ha Ha put together an amazing event.  I am super excited to see what other events they organize.  One event that I am really looking forward to is the upcoming Ye Scallywag! wine, beer, food, and festival which takes place on October 22nd in San Diego.  I know that it will be another epic event, since the organizers of Brew Ha Ha are involved!  If you haven't already secured your tickets, I highly recommend you do so.

Cheers to another rad Brew Ha Ha!
